We’re stoked to unveil the official book trailer for The Mercy of the Tide by Keith Rosson. To say Keith’s novel, set in the fictional coastal town of Riptide, Oregon, is atmospheric is a bit of an understatement. In fact, in his NPR review, Jason Heller says “Riptide is one of the most immersive fictional settings in recent memory.” So in making this trailer, we wanted to capture the pervading mood and the slow-build of suspense that Keith has created in his amazing debut novel, which defies easy categorization: a literary, alternate history, and magical realism mash-up. So without further ado, we hope you enjoy the trailer!
Signed Book Giveaway: We’ll be sharing this trailer on social media for the next month. We’ll randomly choose 1 winner each week for the next 3 weeks to anyone who “retweets” or “shares” the Meerkat Press posts on Twitter or Facebook.
About The Mercy of the Tide: Riptide, Oregon, 1983. A sleepy coastal town, where crime usually consists of underage drinking down at a Wolf Point bonfire. But then strange things start happening—a human skeleton is unearthed in a local park and mutilated animals begin appearing, seemingly sacrificed, on the town’s beaches. The Mercy of the Tide follows four people drawn irrevocably together by a recent tragedy as they do their best to reclaim their lives—leading them all to a discovery that will change them and their town forever.
